The Aftersales Automotive Engineer – Chassis Department is responsible for technical support, root cause analysis, and issue resolution of chassis-related concerns in the field. The role bridges engineering, service, and customer support, ensuring that chassis systems such as suspension, steering, brakes, and axles meet safety, performance, and durability expectations post-sale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical expert for all chassis systems in the Aftersales function.
- Investigate and resolve customer-reported issues related to suspension, steering, braking, and wheel systems.
- Support dealers and service teams with diagnostic procedures, repair guidelines, and field fixes.
- Work closely with Design & Development (D&D), Quality, and Manufacturing to address and prevent recurring chassis-related issues.
- Analyze field data (warranty claims, diagnostic trouble codes, etc.) to identify root causes and trends.
- Develop and issue Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), repair manuals, and maintenance guidelines.
- Participate in cross-functional reviews and field campaigns (e.g., recalls, product improvements).
- Coordinate with suppliers for component analysis and validation of countermeasures.
- Conduct benchmarking and serviceability assessments of new or revised chassis components.
- Provide training and technical support materials for dealership technicians and internal teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive chassis systems, preferably in Aftersales or Product Support.
- Strong understanding of suspension geometry, braking systems, steering dynamics, and NVH behavior.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools, CAN systems, and service documentation platforms.
- Experience with root cause analysis methods (e.g., 5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and CAD/PLM tools (e.g., CATIA, Teamcenter) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in OEM or Tier 1 supplier environments.
- Hands-on mechanical or workshop background.
- Knowledge of global automotive standards and regulations .
- Multilingual capability, especially if supporting international markets.
