Job Summary:
The Transportation In-Charge is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily transportation operations for employees traveling between labor camps and work sites. This role includes managing a team of drivers, ensuring vehicle readiness and compliance, maintaining punctual schedules, and supporting smooth workforce mobility in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate daily pick-up and drop-off schedules for employees.
- Supervise and assign duties to drivers to ensure timely transport services.
- Monitor vehicle movement and driver performance using tracking tools or logs.
- Maintain an updated transport roster and route plan based on shift timings.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy at all times.
- Liaise with site and camp coordinators to align transport with work shifts.
- Handle and report any transport-related incidents, delays, or emergencies.
- Track fuel usage, mileage, and prepare transport-related reports.
- Ensure adherence to all safety and transport regulations.
- Support the hiring, training, and onboarding of new drivers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (diploma in logistics/transportation a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in a transport coordination or supervisory role.
- Experience managing bus or van fleets and labor transport is preferred.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and vehicle maintenance practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using MS Excel, WhatsApp, or basic transport tracking apps.
- Valid driver’s license is a must; bus driving license is an advantage.
