We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Testing & Commissioning Engineer to oversee the testing, commissioning, and final handover of fire alarm systems. The successful candidate will ensure all systems are installed and functioning according to design specifications, local codes, and international standards (NFPA, BS, or equivalent).
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, fire alarm design drawings, and system schematics.
- Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and prepare equipment for testing.
- Perform functional and performance testing of fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional).
- Configure and program fire alarm control panels and associated devices (smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning and testing phases.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors for inspections and approvals.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation including test reports, commissioning forms, and system handover documents.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, local regulations, and applicable codes (e.g., NFPA 72, BS 5839).
- Support integration and interfacing with other life safety systems such as BMS, voice evacuation, sprinklers, and access control.
- Provide training and system demonstrations to end-users and facility teams.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in fire alarm testing & commissioning.
- Hands-on experience with major fire alarm system brands (e.g., Shield, Siemens, Honeywell, Notifier, EST, etc.).
- Familiarity with international fire alarm standards and commissioning procedures.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:
- Site-based role; exposure to construction environment.
- May require night shifts or weekend work depending on project schedules.
- Use of PPE and compliance with health and safety guidelines is mandatory.
