Job Purpose:
To lead the design, engineering, and technical development of fire protection systems in compliance with UAE Civil Defense regulations, NFPA standards, and project requirements. Ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely design deliverables that support project execution and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design of fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, FM200/clean agent systems, fire pumps, detection, and alarm systems).
- Review project specifications, drawings, and client requirements to prepare detailed fire protection system designs.
- Ensure compliance with UAE Civil Defense codes, NFPA, and other international standards.
- Prepare hydraulic calculations, material take-offs, and BOQs.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities for design approvals and NOC submissions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and draftsmen.
- Support tendering teams by reviewing technical documents, drawings, and cost estimates.
- Conduct design reviews, value engineering, and resolve design-related issues during execution.
- Liaise with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in fire protection system design, with at least 3–5 years in a lead/managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of UAE Civil Defense codes and approval processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., Elite Fire, HASS).
- Excellent knowledge of NFPA, BS, and other international fire protection standards.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Previous UAE/GCC experience with approved designs by Civil Defense authorities.
- Professional certification (NFPA, PMP, or equivalent) is an advantage.
