Job Overview:
As an Electrical Design Engineer for Fire Fighting Trucks & Vehicles, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and components tailored to meet the requirements of our fire fighting vehicles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the electrical systems are safe, efficient, and integrated seamlessly into the vehicle designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Design & Development:
Design and develop electrical systems, wiring harnesses, control panels, and power distribution systems for fire fighting trucks and emergency vehicles. - Component Selection & Sizing:
Specify and select electrical components (e.g., motors, switches, controllers, sensors) ensuring they meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards. - Circuit Design & Schematics:
Create detailed circuit diagrams, wiring layouts, and schematics for vehicle electrical systems. - Integration & Testing:
Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical systems with other vehicle subsystems. Perform testing and validation of electrical designs to ensure performance, safety, and reliability. - Compliance & Standards:
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards - Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide technical support for manufacturing, assembly, and field operations, helping troubleshoot electrical issues during production and in-service vehicles. - Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, design specifications, test reports, and other necessary reports for internal and regulatory purposes. - Continuous Improvement:
Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for process improvements, cost reductions, and innovations in vehicle electrical systems.
